Nothing against lycra or Strava, but SQlab’s new Liner Short features a cheeky message across the waist band. “No lycra, No Strava, No Problems.” Pretty much sums it up – especially if you’re a rider who prefers a chamois without any straps.

Called the SQ-Short ONE10, the mesh liner shorts feature thieir SQ-Pad 10 which is 8mm thick at maximum and firm. Built with a layer of orthopedic thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), the pad is said to absorb shear forces which typically result in pain or discomfort from the saddle.

As for the ONE10, this liner short is aimed more at the gravel and trekking world, though it would also work for many mountain bikers as well even though it has a bit more cushion and is designed for more upright riding positions. Available in six sizes, the shorts will sell for €99.99. Like other SQlab clothing, these are made by Maloja.

The SQlab 7OX grips were already nice and soft, but now thanks to a new rubber compound they’ve gotten even softer. Finding the balance between comfortably soft and long lasting is always a battle, but SQlab sees grips as a wear item, so they’d rather have something that is extremely comfortable – even it means a bit shorter life span.

Finally, if you’re a fan of the SQlab inner bar ends, now there’s an even higher performance version made from carbon fiber. The 411 Performance inner bar ends have a split clamp design that is flexible enough to slip over the bar without having to remove your grips or controls. Using a sculpted shape and carbon fiber, SQlab has been able to remove more than 60g from the original 411s, making these just 40g per set. Price and availability is TBD.
